A Little Information Goes a Long Way
A common misconception is that “super glues” are fully cured within seconds or minutes. The truth is that cyanoacrylate adhesives, or CA’s for short, do set somewhat quickly, in most
cases just minutes, but the full cure time is about 24 hours. A ‘set’ is described as enough bond where the parts being bonded may be released to fully cure without something holding those parts in place. In archery this would be your fletching jig. When using ZING! these times are substantially reduced. Initial set will be in seconds depending on how much glue was used. A thin film is all that is necessary, and will allow your vane to set more quickly. A full cure will be reached in only 8 hours.
ZING! Fletching Demonstration
This vane was taken from our stock, and the vane was not cleaned. The front half was left untreated and the back half was treated with ZING! primer.
Instructions for using Zing! Primer:
Using Zing! is incredibly easy, just brush it on using the supplied brush mounted inside the cap, once in each direction covering as much of the base with each pass as possible. That’s it, your vane is now ready for gluing. Zing! evaporates quickly.
Vanes should be fletched within 30 minutes of priming.

Zing is an amazing product. I have been using it @ South Shore for a couple of months now and folks I am here to tell you this is one of the best products to hit archery in years. You can simple wipe it on the foot of the vane with a Q Tip, wait 15 – 30 seconds add glue and you are done. Arrows fletched with Flex Fletch vanes don’t leave our shop without Zing applied during fletching.
Fletch up a couple of old shafts, lay them up until the next day and try to pull the vanes off, I suggest you go ahead and find a pair of pliers, you are going to need them!
That looks to be some amazing stuff Daniel!
