Benjamin Baker
Meet Benjamin Baker, one of Canada’s finest archers. Ben is a young archer and at the time of this writing (Aug, 17 2010) is 12 years old. Never mind his age, Ben can compete with the best. Ben joined the Flex-Fletch team earlier this year and is on a rampage to show the world just what can be accomplished if you put your mind to it.
Recent placings
Recently, June 2010, Ben took first place in the Ontario IBO Prov. Championship despite shooting the first twenty targets from a longer distance than he was supposed to shoot. Ben was using Flash Vanes on his Easton Fatboy’s.
More recently, August 2010, Ben was at the Ontario Summer Games. These games are a mini Olympics with 3500 athletes from across the province of Ontario competing in 40 different events.
Ben of course competed in archery. Ben was the youngest archer in the competition (12 yrs old) shooting in the sixteen and under category. All shooters regardless of age shot the same distance 55m, 45m and 35m.
Ben was able to secure a silver medal with a total two day score of 1638 out of 1800 possible points. He was successful in beating several more experienced and older archers.
